Geopath Fast Fact – Super Bowl
Super Bowl LVIII is this weekend, and is already shaping up to be a history-making game! Interestingly, this year’s game will effectively be a rematch of Super Bowl LIV in 2020, played between the San Francisco 49ers and defending Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs.
This is a game of firsts as well. Originally slated to be held in New Orleans, changes to the season schedule ended up pushing the championship game later than originally intended. Because of this shift, the Super Bowl being hosted in New Orleans would have coincided with Mardi Gras, resulting in a shift to Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium as the host.
Super Bowl LVIII will be the first Super Bowl held at the Allegiant Stadium, which opened in 2020 – but it will also be the first time the game has ever been hosted in the state of Nevada! The game will also be simulcast, which is only the second time in history this has happened (the first being Super Bowl I in 1967!) Uniquely, Sunday’s game will be broadcast on multiple TV networks, streaming platform Paramount+, and on the radio.
To celebrate this historic game, let’s take a look at some OOH inventory and stats from the Las Vegas area.
Within a 2-mile radius of Allegiant Stadium, Geopath measures over 1,700 spots, which generate over 830 million weekly impressions!
On these spots, in a 1-week time period:
- 79% of impressions are against persons 21+
- 44% of impressions are against wine drinkers, as opposed to 33% for beer drinkers
- 28% of impressions come from those who have been to a sporting event in the last 12 months
- 16% of impressions are from those who use the internet to check sports scores/updates
