For today’s Fast Fact, let’s take a look at some OOH statistics across the 67 counties of Florida!

Did you know that Florida’s highest natural point, Britton Hill, is the lowest-elevation high point of any US State? Even at an elevation of 345 ft. above sea level, Britton Hill is lower than all other state high points in the US!

Due to Florida’s unique location and ecology, you’re never more than 60 miles from salt water when you’re in the state! The Everglades National Park, one of 3 found in the state, is an especially unique place; amazingly, the Everglades is the only place in the world where alligators and crocodiles both co-exist within the same ecosystem.

At the state level, Geopath audits over 83,000 spots, with inventory coming from 83 different operators! In the state, there is a total population of nearly 22 million.

Here are a few great potential audience segments to be aware of in the state! According to Geopath Insights Data, there are more dog owners in the state than cat owners, at 23% of the population versus 15%, respectively. Wine drinkers also outnumber beer drinkers in the state by 11% of the total population.

Approximately 2/3 of the state’s population report that they have been to a Quick Service Restaurant to eat in the past 30-days, and 88% report having been to a sit-down restaurant in the same time period.

Almost 1/4 of people living in Florida report that they have been to a professional sporting event in the past 12-months, 18% have been to a theme park, 17% to the zoo, and 1/4 have been to a casino. Of the 22 million Floridians in the state, over 1/3 report that they have spent time on lawn care, 39% have grilled/cooked outdoors, and 32% have done home gardening in the past 12 months. More than one quarter of consumers in the state have purchased athletic shoes in the past year, and 16% belong to a gym/fitness club. Additionally, 34% report that they regularly attend religious services.

In the coming 12 months, 30% of the population report that they have plans to go on a family vacation, and 29% plan to do some home remodeling.
