OOH in Colorado: The State by Numbers

For today’s Fast Fact, let’s take a look at some OOH statistics across the 64 counties of Colorado!
Due to the state’s inherent elevation amidst the Rocky Mountains, there are many records held in Colorado for “highest ______ in the nation (or world, in some cases). For example, the world’s highest auto tunnel, highest railway train, and highest suspension bridge can all be found in Colorado.
Beyond this, Leadville, CO is the highest city in the US, at an elevation of over 10,000 feet. In addition, Colorado also boasts the highest paved road in all of North America – the Mount Evans Scenic Byway reaches above 14,000 feet at its peak!
At the state level, Geopath audits over 23,000 spots, with inventory coming from 42 different operators! In the state, there is a total population of 5.8 million.
Here are a few great potential audience segments to be aware of in the state! According to Geopath Insights Data, there are more dog owners in the state than cat owners, at 25% of the population versus 15%, respectively. Nearly 1/2 of Colorado residents say they drink wine, while about 1/3 say they drink beer.
Approximately 2/3 of the state’s population report that they have been to a Quick Service Restaurant to eat in the past 30 days, and nearly 92% report having been to a sit-down restaurant in the same period!
In the state, 29% of people report that they have been to a professional sporting event in the past 12 months, 21% have been to a theme park, 19% to the zoo, and 1/4 of residents have been to a casino. In a general sense, Coloradans around the state are very active outdoors. Nearly 29% of people report they have purchased athletic shoes in the last 12 months, 23% have been swimming, 21% have been biking, 18% have been jogging/running, and 18% have gone hiking/backpacking.
In the coming 12 months, 33% of the population report that they have plans to go on a family vacation, and 32% plan to do some home remodeling.
