Our past two Geopath Spotlights have highlighted the top advertisers in the both the QSR and Automotive industries. However, for today’s Geopath Spotlight, let’s take a look at the top OOH spending industries in general.
Based on 2019 national data pulled from Kantar, the top 10 industries that spend in OOH were:
- Miscellaneous Services and Amusements
- Media and Advertising
- Public Transportation, Hotels and Resorts
- Insurance and Real Estate
- Government, Politics and Organizations
- Automotive Dealers and Services
- Schools, Camps, and Seminars
Overall, the top 10 industries increased their OOH spend by nearly 8% between 2018 and 2019! While the order of industries based on OOH spend has remained pretty consistent over the past two years, there were some categories that spent more last year compared to 2018. These include Public Transportation, Hotels, and Resorts, which raised their OOH spend by 7%, and Insurance and Real Estate, which raised their OOH spend by 27%!
